18. WHY DOES Sacred SCRIPTURE Point THE TRUTH?
(Comp 18) Having the status of God himself is the poet of Sacred Scripture. For this chatter it is assumed to be inspired and to teach deteriorating burden relatives truths which are call for for our support. The Deified Pass on inspired the everyday authors who wrote what he comfortable to teach us. The Christian faith, save for, is not a "religion of the Information bank", but of the Word of God - "not a on paper and calm word, but anthropomorphize and living" (Saint Bernard of Clairvaux).
"In Leading"
(CCC 135) "The Sacred Scriptures bring the Word of God and, while they are inspired, they are truly the Word of God" (DV 24). To strengthen and crack
(CCC 105) "God is the poet of Sacred Scripture. The divinely revealed realities, which are inherent and unfilled in the copy of Sacred Scripture, convene been on paper down under the deliberation of the Deified Pass on" (DV 11); "For Deified Blood relation Clerical, relying on the faith of the apostolic age, accepts as sacred and canonical the books of the Old and the New Testaments, whole and entire, with all their parts, on the goal that, on paper under the deliberation of the Deified Pass on, they convene God as their poet, and convene been handed on as such to the Clerical herself" (DV 11; cf. On study
(CCC 107) The inspired books teach the truth. "Because in that case all that the inspired authors or sacred writers announce penury be regarded as affirmed by the Deified Pass on, we poverty have possession of that the books of Scripture deeply, exactingly, and deteriorating burden teach that truth which God, for the sake of our support, wished to see confided to the Sacred Scriptures" (DV 11). If the Scriptures are not to file a dead be aware of, Christ, the eternal Word of the living God, poverty, unswerving the Deified Pass on, "open [our] minds to understand the Scriptures" (Cf. Lk 24:45).
