Stang Or Cooking Stick
I breakdown I'd read what I'm saying about the Stang deriving from the chow be responsible for in the initial post, encouraged by Yvonne's clarification to that post. I am assured by Charles Zika's interpretation of the forked be responsible for in the Hans Bulding Grien image (less than) as a chow be responsible for. I sum this - and other images of such sticks as in Ulrich Molitor's photograph of witches on high, picture at hand - contributed to the concept in modern Coagulate Witchcraft of the stang. So, I sum that in these depictions this is a chow be responsible for. Nonetheless, I also sum that in contemporary Coagulate Witchcraft, the forked be responsible for is the stang. I fair-minded do not sum the contemporary stang - as it is used today - is derives from Witch Hunt-period witchcraft, or is ancient. Evan Jones says, in "Witchcraft: A Prepare Transformed" that "as with frequent of the craft tools, the origin of the stang is lost in the mists of time" and he admits that "the few hints that we do clasp of its brood operate are really zero top-quality than presume and supposition..." As far as I know, no stang apt with income of witchcraft has been unearthed archaeologically, and I know of no staple source witchcraft texts speaking about the stang - all the same I'd be analytical to drawback about such objects. With the sole purpose in the same way as the Coagulate Witchcraft stang is not outstandingly ancient unmoving, does not mean that it is not perfectly rep of the Horned God - it is, and I personally find it rep. Who might not find "Complain of the Horned Piper" by Nigel Jackson, with its beautiful images of the stang in use, absolutely transporting? Which brings me to the arrows Yvonne mentioned... Evan Jones says "For all horrible income the coven stang is appropriate with arrows and garlands. Similar to once again, the arrows are gesture of the duality of the Horned God design... a memento of the understand...". Sounds practicable, and I don't know bounty about the *symbolic* use of arrows - by hunters, or witches - to disparagement on the traditional integrity, or not, of this use. I'd sensation unmoving, that this combination of stang and arrows is logically modern, that is unless introduce is archaeological indication to the contrary. So, I am not saying the contemporary stang is not rep, effective and a categorize of the Horned God - it is. I'm fair-minded saying that I suspicious it came from the photograph of the chow stick!
