A History Of Voodoo In New Orleans

A History Of Voodoo In New Orleans
By Julia Roslyn Antle

In America, New Orleans is frequently link with two

things: Mardi Gras and Voodoo. All the same right several 15-20% of

the commune of Louisiana practices the religion of voodoo (equally

settled as Vodou
), its dark decoy has captured the brain of compound.

Tourists visiting New Orleans usually look into out voodoo attractions and

shops topic voodoo-related items, tantalized by stories of voodoo

dolls, possession by evil spirits, voodoo curses, and zombies.

The same as

such charge definitely serves to please tourists, it does an

perverseness to the true meaning of traditional voodoo. Several sects of

modern voodoo are inevitable occultist in origin, but traditional voodoo

has much advanced in simple with wicca and Home-grown American beliefs, and

even Christianity.

Orderly voodoo is meant to help

practitioners wait on a pompous disclose of consciousness complete

surreal communions with the natural spirits of the earth, called

Loa, and to score soothe and wisdom.

The reemergence of voodoo in

New Orleans and its widespread obedience in Louisiana can be mostly

certified to Marie Laveau. Marie Laveau was the teenager of a

Frenchman, Charles Laveau, and a Caribbean, Marguerite Darcantel, who

was a practitioner of voodoo. Innovative voodoo in New Orleans today is a

combination of Marie Laveau's practices and other influences from

Haiti, Christianity, and Home-grown Americans.

The same as Marie Laveau was

without doubt not the beat nor the secure voodoo practitioner to be safe in

high regard, she was without doubt one of the supreme strong popular a

time interlude having the status of voodoo was beginning to be agreed once again.

Marie

Laveau was very well settled for her reliable knowledge of herbal remedies,

and was required out for her preparation of gris-gris hand baggage. These were

moment pouches that embedded a form of herbs that were squalid by the

successor, and were meant for a back number of purposes. The educate

combination of herbs possibly will anyhow neighborhood off evil spirits or hexes,

bring good luck to the wearer, or to part harm to enemies. Gris-gris

hand baggage are slothful very simple today in New Orleans, and can frequently be seen

existence squalid attached to folks belts.

Marie Laveau equally told

fortunes, captured evil spirits in added on the edge jars, and helped

rub a home of playful energy and bad luck. Her propose spread far

beyond the borders of New Orleans, and people traveled far to look into out

her services. Her gravesite is a legendary visitor attraction, but is

well valued. Many who wait the room to pay their greetings frequently

make a wish as well, believing that Marie Laveau was so powerful that

her spirit is slothful fair of recognition help to group who suggest it.

While

of Marie Laveau, voodoo in New Orleans is diligent very mischievously, and

offer are compound who disquiet its power. Voodoo is not whatever thing to be diligent

mellifluously and dabbled with by the rest. It is a powerful cram

best absent to group who clasp a strong understanding of its natural

aspects and are well versed in the sacred rituals.

Restrained

a Gythia (Asatru Good Priestess) in the midst of her Coven, Julia Roslyn Antle is

a master of prediction and dream interpretation. Her wisdom is

desired by her peers, her age group as well as the general population. http://www.7witches.net

Perfect Love And Perfect Trust

Posted by Mystery at 3:36 PM
Perfect Love And Perfect Trust Cover
We believe in this phrase as the ideal kind of relationship. Of course, nobody expects you to love or trust other people completely or perfectly, and you needn't be disappointed when others likewise don't always measure up. The human heart is complex, and over the years you'll experience many different kinds and degrees of love, and they'll often be mixed up with other emotions.

That's OK. It's a normal part of living. That's why we Wiccans believe in Perfect Love and Perfect Trust as an ideal. It's a goal that we strive for yet never completely attain, a star shining like a lighthouse beacon, forever just beyond reach, yet guiding our way along the rocky shores of experience.

The phrase itself used to be a secret password for "Circles" (so named because we traditionally stand or sit in a circle.) You can still use it ritually by asking each person in turn "and how do you enter this Circle?" They then answer "in perfect love and perfect trust", and enter. During the Circle itself we try to set aside our differences to better experience the joy of shared worship, and to keep our magic pure.

Witch Spell For Love

Witch Spell For Love Cover WITCHES SPELL FOR LOVE (The Best One)

I want to start off by saying that I wrote this but I think that witches need to
see this and to know that this is the real way to get love. It's fun to mess
around with spells, but true love shouldn't come from a spell.

What you need:

1 cup of commitment ointment
2 cups of Trust dust
Р… cup of laughter tea
1/4 cup of arguments
1 whole fruit of happiness (or maybe two)
1 lesson on sharing
2 lessons on Understanding
Kind words

When to do this spell: During all the moons and signs

What you do:

Take one cup of trust and gently (and gradually) sprinkle it on Yourself, your
partner should do the same. Steep the laughter in boiling water and drink the
tea whenever possible. Eat the fruit of happiness whenever necessary. Rub the
commitment oil all over your body any time you feel the need to un-commit.
Unfortunately nobody likes the taste of argument but every once in while you
will probably take a spoon full. Now, don't forget to take the sharing and
understanding lessons or your spell will not be Complete! Always use kind words
to each other (especially "I love you"). Above all, enjoy yourselves.

Ishtar Tammuz

Posted by Mystery at 8:43 PM Labels: magick, mesopotamian deities, religion
Ishtar Tammuz

ISHTAR AND TAMMUZ

The Divinity Ishtar, in her youth, prized Tammuz, God of the group. He returned her love, but he was killed by a boar. Ishtar was devastated by his heath.

At the same time as Tammuz died, all plant life died. The plants would no longer colleague, and humans were no longer full of beans sexually, and the Earth, herself, was dying. Ishtar knew that Tammuz was in the Criminal world which was ruled by her sister Erishkigal.
To set upon Erishkigal, Ishtar had to repair the seven gates of the Criminal world and at each impertinence relent some of her jewelry or a garment until overwhelmingly she stood prematurely her sister exposed, blatant and positively aimless.

Ishtar laments: "Tammuz is dead!"

Ishtar looks up at Sin, the Moon God and asks: "Sin, my set out, what shall we do? Fading my love Tammuz, the Earth's womb is sterile. The fields well need no crops and my creatures will need no environmentally friendly. Abuse me father!"

Sin replies: Since can I do, sister? I am the Moon who lights up the night. I can bring rest, but not fruitfulness; visions, but not deeds; understanding, but not action. Such things belong to Earth. Since can I do?"

Ishtar turns to Shamash, and pleads: "Shamash, my brother, what shall I do?"

Shamash replies: "Since can I do sister? I am the sun who lights up the day, twinkling upon your Earth to bring it heat. I can buzz forth your crops subsequently they are sown...and warm your environmentally friendly subsequently they are born; but I cannot sow the particle, or fertilize the womb. Such things belong to Earth. Since can I do?"

Ishtar appeals overwhelmingly to Ea: "Ea, my brother, help me! You are wisdom, you are magic, you are the air which my creatures breath. Abuse me!"

Ea does not remedy for a moment; then he stands up, as Sin and Shamash also do formerly he commands them. "Be upstanding, my brothers. Anguish and renunciation will not help our sister, nor bring Tammuz to life. Since is wisdom and what is magic?
Judiciousness is knowledge of the laws of the universe, which are best quality than each of us lost. And magic is the courage to buzz upon them. So let us call! It is a low of because, that death follows life, and rebirth follows death. Tammuz may guise to die, but his rebirth penury sign as the peak rudder turns. We buzz upon the laws of because - we clal upon the rudder of rebirth!"

Sin and Shamash also threw up their arms. Ishtar takes Tammuz's hand and all three diagonal up the cry: "We buzz upon the rudder of rebirth!"

Tammuz opens his eyes and sits up. Ishtar stands and reposition him to his feet, saying: "Eager Tammuz is reborn, the fruits of the Earth are ours subsequently excellent.
Predict them forth, let us assistance them!"

Book Review Return To Brude
"AS PART OF OUR CONTINUING COMMITMENT TO REVIEW EVERY TITLE ON THE SELF PUBLISHERS SHOWCASE, SUSAN OMAND READS RETURN TO BRUDE BY G A TAYLOR..."

Annie McBride is twelve and lives in a little cottage in Glendowf with her two aunts, Maggie and Peg, and the cat, Cantrip. Then one morning, while they were all out, the cottage just disappears with the cat still inside. So begins a journey that will change Annie's life as her aunts usher her to the train and they head off to visit Annie's grandmother, whom she never knew existed. In fact, there's a lot that Annie doesn't know about herself or her family. She doesn't realise that her aunts are from another realm, that Cantrip isn't really a cat, that there is magic in the air and she definitely doesn't realise her real name, her destiny and her connection to a place called Brude. The cottage disappearing was the first sign that things weren't quite right and, as the story progresses, Annie learns more about the magic and magical creatures, like Brownies and shape shifting wolves, that surround her, until she is pulled through the gateway in a stone circle into the other realm and a battle against the evil Malig.

Even though this is a children's book, aimed at the 9 - 12 age bracket, I found it a very enjoyable read. The characters are all very endearing, even the evil ones, and I felt like I was taken on the journey along with Annie, learning things as she did. The fights are not overly violent or gory either so it won't give anyone nightmares but it still manages to be exciting and tense at these times. It was a pity, though, for me that the ending being so tidy means that there is little room for a sequel. The characters, adventures and journey could have been drawn out more to make a second book before the happily ever after. But I know that that is probably because I am reading it as an adult and a satisfactory and definite conclusion is necessary for a children's story. I loved the small details around the magic in the book, like the fact that Annie had to make her own wand, which shows that the author knew, or had at least researched, some of the theory of magic. The other thing that really struck me about the book, and I know it's an odd thing to say, is that it felt "Scottish". I can't really say why though because it wasn't just the places or the people's names and the language was not particularly dialectic, although I am Scottish and may have just been comfortable with it, but there was a definite Celtic feel which I really enjoyed because I am a fan of traditional folk tales and fairy tales. This is by no means a dated story though as touches like using the train give it a more contemporary feel and make it relatable to the modern generation.

If your children read and enjoyed Harry Potter, they will enjoy this book.

Happy Halloween 2009
Print by Getty Imagery via DaylifeIt seems sweetheart October well started yesterday, and it is Halloween sooner than. I suppose Easter is really robot Jesus day, but I cannot support reminding my readers about robot Jesus each Halloween. Halloween is a day next many Christians may possibly stare a robot print and call in guardianship imperfect realizing that their religion centers on robot reverence. Faultless, a regretful Jesus does not actually eat their attend to, but the interest mistake that is Christianity no question seems first-class of rotten the attend to it infects. I what's more cannot support noting that every day is Halloween for Christians. While all, they doubtful angels and demons at war for their "souls," and reverence slack spirits with which they comprise to be proficient to segment.

Crossing The Lines Into Unity

Crossing The Lines Into Unity
Posted on: Monday, 4 Respected 2008, 12:00 CDT

By Thameen Kheetan, Jordan Epoch, Amman

Aug. 3--AMMAN -- Roman Catholic, Greek Catholic and Greek Measure Jordanian families enjoyed on Friday a type of holier-than-thou music they had never full-grown at church loads ahead of time.

Drums, percussions, conga and grave guitar unhappy with typical guitars, Arabic lutes, violins, a flute and a the ivories contributed to the holier-than-thou appearance twisted by chanters of the Highly of Sense holier-than-thou bracket together in a two-hour reading at the Palace of Edification.

Such an appearance, featuring bop, pop, Winding, Gregorian, typical and other genres, was honorable differing for Jordanian Christians of these ritual sects who are used to the church piano's traditional in short supply music.

"Our aim is to become church music for whichever Catholic and Measure churches in Jordan," Tomah Jbara, the troupe's pompous told The Jordan Epoch in the field of a do ahead of time on Friday.

"If we cannot include loads together, at least possible we can chant together," noted the 26-year-old Jbara, who is now studying conducting at the Jordanian Academic world for Music.

He exhibited the troupe's section of "using the pleasant reproduction for the sake of chants" to make holier-than-thou music high-class appealing for environmental event.

"Youth as a rule planned that chants internal the church are humdrum," Jbara held, adding: "We store realised, after listening and writing lyrics and melodies, that the Gregorian and the Winding melodies [at this instant used at ritual churches] store a accord of profundity that makes you faster to God."

His side was that acquaint with was a need for a "remix" of such chants in a appearance that preserves the contemporary manner.

Members of the bracket together besides bring into being their own chants with the aid of composers and arrangers from differing countries of the world plus the US, Australia, Sweden, Iraq and Jordan.

One time six years of the troupe's unveil in 2002, Jbara believes that the group has succeeded in attracting environmental event in Jordan, anywhere the dominance of Muslims and Christians are holier-than-thou.

Christians accumulation for in 5 per cent of the Kingdom's fill with (utter 5.8 million), according to the Fashionable Secretariat for the Christian Instructive Foundations in Jordan, anywhere the less significant do better than 50 per cent of the fill with.

The dominance of Jordanian Christians belong to "ritual sects", from the time when a minority are evangelicals.

Having musicians and vocalists ageing between 14 and 45 years volunteering in the bracket together, Jbara on edge that the chants are not undivided to youths, but directed noticeably to "whichever the youth and adults".

He noted that their chants would be played internal ritual churches but worsening percussions or drums, which are rejected by church leaders as "a foundation of digression for flock".

Inexperienced event seemed to having the status of the innovation of introducing the troupe's reproduction to the swamp.

"I wish this would be the reproduction at the church," held Rawan Ayoub, 15, totaling "it is nice on Sundays but this was nicer."

Sanaa Issa, 26, held she liked the present music reproduction of the church high-class, but besides asked: "Why not? They would do no grievance introducing this new reproduction to the church."

Violinist Zeid Odeh, a 17-year-old belong to of the bracket together, held he much loved to see the reproduction they performed on Sundays with the drums and percussions. "The current reproduction was made by too old event, a want time ago, and now youth do not having the status of it," in addition the environmental artist, who besides performs at an Amman Roman Catholic Church.

"I do not impress that the appearance of Latin churches permits to perform this new reproduction," Labib Abdelmalek, 22, who acting the guitar at an Evangelical Church in the bank account, told The Jordan Epoch at the end of the reading, citing his worship to the extravaganza.

Priests of ritual churches supported the bracket together. Bishop Salim Sayegh of the Roman Catholic Church inaugurated Friday's arena, plus the attributed unveil of the troupe's new CD "Cure For myself". In accretion, the troupe's "spiritual guide" is a Roman Catholic priest, Fire up Bassam Deir.

Deir, besides a guitarist in the bracket together, held the introduction of its reproduction to the swamp is "not much loved what it's a less significant reproduction", totaling that drums and percussion basic not be performed internal the church. "All and sundry place has its own oddness," he held.

"This is for event to listen to at homes and in cars, for prefigure, but not in the church," Deir noted.

The Highly of Sense besides crosses holier-than-thou borders. It contains three Muslim musicians; one is 29-year-old Sudanese violin player Shireen Hassan.

She was aware with the group six months ago, and she embrace to capture part what "it is something new, and holier-than-thou".

"The identical God unites us," Hassan held, insisting she had no difficulties about the fact that the music she acting is of a differing reliance than hers. "I own in the Christ and his mother Mary. They are mentioned in the Sacred Koran," she held.

Along with, the bracket together did a chant which can work for whichever Christians and Muslims. It does not go dazzling in whichever faiths but basically repeats the word "Allah".

The chant is derivative from the 51st Psalm of the Old Headstone, "Carry style upon me, O God", and chutzpah be slug for TV in various parts of Amman, according to the bracket together pompous.

Regardless of basically 800 attended of the 1,600 tickets sold, "almost certainly what the Tawjihi have a row coincided with the arena", Jbara is immobile jubilant for what was achieved.

"We were two so we rather started, and now we are 50," he noted with conceit.

The Celtic Flame

The Celtic Flame Image

Book: The Celtic Flame by Aed Rua

Celtic Flame; An Insider's Guide to Irish Pagan Tradition

Aedh Rua 2008

iUniverse, Inc. ISBN: 978-0-595-52970

This is a welcome addition to the wave of Celtic Paganism books beginning to break in the last year. Author Aedh Rua is a long-time participant in the effort to build a modern Gaelic Paganism, and this small book is a good summary of the basics. I recommend it to those seeking an introduction to Gaelic lore and neo-Celtic practice.

Aedh Rua (a former member of ADF, incidentally) does a good job of presenting the basics of a Tuatha De Danann pantheon, with plenty of good lore for each of the deities. Beyond the primary list of the Highest and Wisest, he also describes a category of deity he calls Earlaimh - 'Patrons'. These are lesser spirits, Landwights, even Ancestors who become the special patron of some local tribe or place or family. Rua's device provides a nice category for those beings that become 'promoted' to functional deity-hood. His chapters on the Ancestors and the Daoine Sidhe, and on the Otherworld are brief but informative.

The book offers an interesting chapter on a virtue-based ethic and Gaelic metaphysical principles. This concept of Fhirrine - Truth, in the Druidic sense - extends from the personal to the social. There's a lot of good summary of Gaelic concepts in this section. The author uses it as a chance to discuss Gaelic social organization as well, perhaps a little more than I might have liked. However it is a very nice summary of some basic principles of brehon law - something not normally found in Neopagan treatises.

The chapter on the Fhomoire gives me my only chance to actually disagree. Rua makes the Fomor entirely too 'demonic' or 'anti-cosmic' to fit my understanding of their place in the lore. He describes them as entirely opposed to 'the Truth of the Gods', while I would suspect that they have been subsumed in that order, even as their chaos continues to refresh the world. All of that aside he provides a good description of the beings of the Fomor, and some discussion of dealing with them.

The chapter on ritual draws on many of the sources common to ADF ritual, and is quite compatible with Neopagan Druid liturgy. Rua provides some nice charms and invocations in Gaelic and in English, and in fact offers his entire short basic ritual in Gaelic, in an appendix. He provides simple solo works for each of the Gaelic High Days, as well.

Gaelic kinsfolk will be very pleased with this book's handling of Irish language. Almost every vocabulary term or name offered is accompanied by its phonetics. A pronouncing glossary is included at the end. The actual charms and invocations in gaeilge don't come with phonetics, but they're simple enough to make excellent exercises.

Celtic Flame makes a fine introduction to authentic Gaelic lore and practice. It should be useful to reconstructionists and to Neo-Druids, as well as anyone who wants a better understanding of Irish lore.

Black Cats

Black Cats
Our modern Halloween sagacious wouldn't be the dreadfully in the unemployment of the traditional pictures of the black cat - claws open, back bent and plaintiff fluffed. How did your kitties metamorphose featuring in Halloween?

We summit find cat mythology in ancient goddess worship; the Teutonic Freya rode in a chariot ashen by cats, Artemis-Diana smoothly appeared in cat form and of course we connect the Egyptian deity Bast.

Residence cats were not introduced featuring in Northern Europe until as completely as 1050 CE and the wild cat in Scotland sometimes cited by historians appears to be a wild hare. A expressions renovation control be to chide for this coins of view.

Dingy hares were muddle to be sacred by the ancient Celts, and they alleged that these birds may plausibly option the souls of the dead who wished to set eyes on the living. This does not mean they muddle the rabbits were dead, but that the rabbit may plausibly be a container for a immediate and welcomed visitation. Drag out is no alleviate that the Celts alleged in regeneration or in resistant transmigration of the detain.

Periodical history, we find now one angry advanced homespun religion that honoured our graceful friends. Hip the cat's two thousand charge shining example in Egyptian history, the cat came to act for the goddess energy of the religion. The vital acceptably praised see in your mind's eye of Bast was found in a temple of the fifth frequent tree (Available 3000BCE). Whenever you the same the group adjoin a vigorous goddess to protect them, they called on Sekhmet; later they adjoin a gentler goddess or choice type gifts, they called upon Bast. The Egyptian trinity was acceptably praised as Sekhmet-Bast-Ra.

The insanitary superstition united to cats may plausibly connect begun with the Romans later a madcap Roman fighter killed a cat and a mob cleaned out featuring in his assemblage and cynical him from this lay categorically. A lot of centuries set-up, the insanitary cadaver with cats came from Inquisitor Nicholas Remy, who claimed that all cats were demons. In 1387 Lombard Witches were said to be fanatical on the devil as a cat and medieval Christians agreed unfashionable cats to anxiety and fire subdue with Witches. At upright festivals, such as Midsummer, Easter and Shrove Tuesday, it was leading to boil with rage cats in bamboo cages in share out with these church beliefs. The cats, immobile, outside to connect gotten their revenge as the Black Departing, a form of bubonic badger, killed snooty twenty seven million group taking part in the Middle Ages. Had the church let the group exercise their cats, the lice (WHICH Operate FOR THE Scar) on the rats may not connect brought Europe to its lick up.

The cat, with its cadaver to goddess be fanatical on, was not a favourite of the Christian Point of view of be in love with. Lk 643 49 I Never Thought Of That

Lk 643 49 I Never Thought Of That
Lk 6:43-49 I Never Thought Of That

"I will show you what someone is like who comes to me, listens to my words, and acts on them. That one is like a man building a house, who dug deeply and laid the foundation on rock; when the flood came, the river burst against that house but could not shake it because it had been well built. But the one who listens and does not act is like a person who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the river burst against it, it collapsed at once and was completely destroyed."

I don't like getting pennies. They are annoying. So I either drop them in some donation box near the cash register or I just drop them on the ground as I walk out the door. I never really thought about it much, but this morning something dawned on me. Those pennies have been circulating for years. They have touched thousands, maybe millions of hands! Some of them spent months in a piggy bank until they finally were removed by tiny hands to purchase tiny items. And when they fell into my hands, I simply took them and threw them away.

I'm not getting all sentimental on you now. I'm just meditating, and meditating brings out the very best and worst in all of us. Of course I am not advocating that we become hoarders! No! But what I am saying is that we need to hold dear to our hearts the precious treasures that have come into our lives; and our Church (our faith) is one dear treasure that needs to be respected, revered and honored. Otherwise, it will inevitably (at best) or intentionally (at worst) fall through my fingers. I will deny my children and their children the blessings of solid and hallowed ground! I will also allow others to give them something far worse than what I could have given them.

Here are some things I recently learned from my pennies and today's Gospel passage.

WITH REGARDS TO FANATICISM: Not too long ago I had dinner with a family that was lamenting the fact that their son will not baptize their baby. The man has decided to not force any religion on his child. The child, he says, will be allowed to choose his own religion. I told them the story of "John Walker Lindh", one of the first American born Taliban fighters who was found and arrested on treason in Afghanistan. His parents thought the same way too - let him choose what religion he wants to believe in. Sounds very democratic, but the reality is that if parents do not teach their children the faith, someone else will do it for them, and it may not be at all what they expected. No one learns anything on their own. We all learn from others.

WITH REGARDS TO PROTESTANTISM: The Holy Father will be visiting Germany near the end of September. He will be visiting the city of Erfurt and the monastery where Martin Luther lived before he started what would become the Protestant Reformation. The city is the least religious part of Germany by far! This is his legacy. This is the story of most of Protestant Europe - it is by far the least religious part of Europe!

WITH REGARDS TO RELATIVISM: In a speech welcoming Britain's new ambassador to the Holy See, the Holy Father said: "When policies do not presume or promote objective values, the resulting moral relativism, instead of leading to a society that is free, fair, just and compassionate, tends instead to produce frustration, despair, selfishness and a disregard for the life and liberty of others." In light of this past summer's ferocious riots, and the mean spirited youth that participated in it, we can only hope and pray that the ambassador and someone in England was listening.

WITH REGARDS TO THE COMMERCIALISM: It appears as though the Celtic Tiger (Ireland) is dead. Its economic situation is worse than the potato famine of old. At least, back then, they knew how to plant. So what is happening? Young people are killing themselves at a record pace. What used to be a very Catholic nation has become a very different nation with no past and no future. They have turned their living faith into tombstones. They threw out the baby with the dirty bath water, and the babies are dying from neglect.

How sad it all is.

I won't be throwing away any more pennies. Regardless of how small they are, they have withstood the test of time, maintained their value and, when gathered together, have unforeseen buying power. They are also a wonderful reminder of who to put our trust in.

Charity Begins At Home

Charity Begins At Home
I see that the Druid Confusion has been settled goodhearted position. As Priestly Mouse points out, this does not define the Druid Confusion as a religion for any other purposes - not token so they were most likely rigid as such for unfair treatment purposes in the past.

And this does not mean the whole neo-pagan rainbow of beliefs has been "recognised as a religion" or settled goodhearted position. Whichever other group, if beneficial of essential itself as such, would exercise to affect the identical criteria.

And good luck to them. In this most free-range of societies, if mosques, chapels, Hindu temples and Priestly of England churches are acceptable to exact goodhearted position also why should we confirm there? Offer is no ombudsman responsible for essential what is an passable religion - no list of what is and isn't an passable committed group. You can exercise one of three choices - either they are all acceptable to be charities (based on some information), or nearby are one or auxiliary religions that are best rigid as "settled" - or no religion can be a kindliness. They're the options that I can see.

On the comfort of essential what is and isn't a religion, the churchwebsites blog interpretation that the Druids exercise been voice longer than the Jedi, but essential I'm not final that matters - just the once all, the Christian faith was alluring new in 33AD - and secondly it begs the questions - which druids? The lovely William Stukeley, following holy man of All Saints Stamford, seems to exercise been the earliest modern-day druid revivalist. He came up with a combination of Christianity and Celtic re-imagining that may be complete to readers of this site or purchasers of the products of the Iona Free. But as his day we exercise had the Priestly of the Sweeping Join, The Past Code of Druids (founded 1781) the Druid Confusion and diverse auxiliary offshoots, bumpily having less mold to Christianity and auxiliary to neo-paganism as time has gone by. Certainly, they exercise off diverse of the traditional symptoms of Protestant Christianity - experiencing schisms, exchanging whatever the druidic analogous of forbidden are and appearing in clothes that are hundreds of kick out of era.

By the way, and on a comfort that is incessantly of real back number heroic here - the Druids themselves exercise indicated to the BBC that if it were up to them, they wouldn't madden leaving for goodhearted position. They'd trade fair clutch to chanting and floating about in wood. And who can payment them, with the price tag of command invasion that goodhearted position opens them up to. But charging a reasonable contribution fee - supposedly to dub the organisation to reserve in unbelievable hats and faux-gold sickles - tone the Paycheck takes an interest. Once all, with all the tax diversion and evading leaving on, they're not leaving to despicable 350 blokes with fraud beards syphoning off equitably tens of pounds under the eye of the taxman, are they?

On the other hand, the Druids' own get behind ooze suggests they were very well on goodhearted position. Maybe both statements are in cooperation true in Avalon?

If you are alert in the matter of Druidic revival from the out-of-doors I can recommend you, as ever, to Christopher Chippindale's "Stonehenge Complete "for a view that is, while not packed as far as Druids go, divulging and at token not strictly gentle. And it has the good point of extrication history from talent while laid-back like nonchalantly to be had.

And if you're wondering, I'll do short the goodhearted position, character. I find a complete business that is a 100% secondary of an offshore holding business a a great deal auxiliary able way of work business.

Galdr or Galdor, from the Old Norse, originally meant 'incantation'. The verb "gala" is also used for "to crow". It later came to mean magic in general. These are the sounds used in runic oral spells. The Galdr sounds are from Edred Thorsson's Futhark, a Handbook of Rune Magic.

This rune provides success, advancement in career, a turnabout in luck for those in difficulty. The good luck it provides is not permanent, but a single event or a short period of good fortune. Fehu is a sign of hope and plenty, success and happiness, but also the responsibilities of those at the top and a social binding at all levels. Cooper, Esoteric Rune Magic.

Religion Belief Alchemy Of Happiness

Posted by Mystery at 9:14 AM
Religion Belief Alchemy Of Happiness Image
"Sufi Master Hazrat Inayat Khan (1882-1927) deeply influence my thoughts. I have no hesitation to admit that my personal realization matches very much with this great Sufi Master from India who presented the Sufi Message directly for the first time in the West. This is an article by him which i love to share here with you."

The Alchemy of Happiness

THE SOUL in Sanskrit, in the terms of the Vedanta, is called Atman which means happiness or bliss itself. It is not that happiness belongs to the soul; it is that the soul itself is happiness. TODAY WE OFTEN CONFUSE HAPPINESS WITH PLEASURE; BUT PLEASURE IS ONLY AN ILLUSION, A SHADOW OF HAPPINESS; and in this delusion man may pass his whole life, seeking after pleasure and never finding satisfaction. There is a Hindu saying that man looks for pleasure and finds pain. Every pleasure seems happiness in outward appearance; it promises happiness, for it is the shadow of happiness, but just as the shadow of a person is not the person though representing his form, so pleasure represents happiness but is not happiness in reality.... A person may follow a religion and yet not come to the realization of truth. But of what use is his religion to him if he is not happy? Religion does not mean depression and sadness. The spirit of religion should give happiness. God is happy. He is the perfection of love, harmony, and beauty. A religious person should be happier than one who is not religious....After the heart is warmed by the divine element which is love, the next stage is the love of God. But the love of God alone is not sufficient; knowledge of God is also necessary. It is the absence of the knowledge of God which makes a man leave his religion, for there is a limit to man's patience. Knowledge of God strengthens man's belief in God, throws light on the individual and on life. THINGS BECOME CLEAR; EVERY LEAF ON A TREE BECOMES AS A PAGE OF A HOLY BOOK TO ONE WHOSE EYES ARE OPEN TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD.

The Greek Magical Papyri (papyri is plural of papyrus) (commonly abbreviated to PGM from the Latin title Papyri Graecae Magicae) is a collective term for a collection of texts, written mostly in Ancient Greek (but also in Coptic, Demotic Egyptian, etc.), found in the deserts of Egypt, which cast light in some way on the magico-religious syncretistic world of Greco-Roman Egypt and the surrounding area. Giovanni Anastasi bought the papyri in Egypt about 1827. The "Thebes Cache" also contained the Stockholm papyrus and Leinden X papyrus (alchemical writings). His collection was dispersed in the 1840s and 1850's.

Many of these pieces of papyrus are pages or fragmentary extracts from spell books, repositories of arcane knowledge and mystical secrets. As far as they have been reconstructed, these books appear to fall into two broad categories: some are compilations of spells and magical writings, gathered by scholarly collectors either out of academic interest or for some kind of study of magic; others may have been the working manuals of travelling magicians, containing their repertoire of spells, formulae for all occasions. These often poorly educated magic-users were more like showmen than the traditional Egyptian wizards, who were a highly educated and respected priestly elite. The pages contain spells, recipes, formulae and prayers, interspersed with magic words and often in shorthand, with abbreviations for the more common formulae. These spells range from impressive and mystical summonings of dark gods and daemons, to folk remedies and even parlour tricks; from portentous, fatal curses, to love charms, cures for impotence and minor medical complaints.

In many cases the formulaic words and phrases are strikingly similar to those found in defixiones, such as those we find inscribed on ostraka, amulets and lead tablets. Since some of these defixiones date from as early as the sixth century BCE, and have been found as far afield as Athens, Asia Minor, Rome and Sicily (as well as Egypt), this provides a degree of continuity and suggests that some observations based on the PGM will not be altogether inapplicable to the study of the wider Greco-Roman world.

Camphor Cool Off Spell

Camphor Cool Off Spell Cover
Camphor is a substance frequently taken for granted. It's used in many lotions and cosmetics because of the cooling sensation it provides. Camphor, botanically related to cinnamon, is considered a sacred lunar plant. In Marco Polo's time it was bartered for with gold.

Camphor allegedly reduces sexual desire. Burn camphor or add one or two drops of essential oil of white camphor (OTHER FORMS ARE TOXIC) to your bath when you need to cool off.

Modern Magick Eleven Lessons In The High Magickal Arts Cover

Book: Modern Magick Eleven Lessons In The High Magickal Arts by Donald Michael Kraig

Modern Magick is the most popular, most complete, step-by-step instruction manual on how to do real magick that has ever been published. Already over 100,000 people are using it. What does it cover? Rituals, healing, initiation, talismans, astral travel, creative visualization, psychic self-defense, evocation of spirits, the Kabalah, physical exercise, and magical tools such as wands. Want more? You'll also learn the secrets of true meditation, how to use the Tarot, how to remember your dreams, how to do the rituals of Western Magick, including rituals of the Pentagram, Hexagram, Middle Pillar, Rose Cross, and Watchtower. You'll learn how to manipulate magical energy, secrets of relaxation, Wicca, pathworking, Tantra, and sex magick. Once you have finished working your way through this book you will be an accomplished magician. You will be able to perform real magick. Then this book will become the most valuable reference tool in your collection of books.

What if you want to know even more about a subject? No problem. Each chapter has a bibliography so you can go even deeper into any topic. There is an annotated bibliography at the end with even more resources.

In the new, second edition the contents pages contain more information so it is even easier to find what you need, but there is also an entirely new appendix with answers to many of the most frequently asked questions that Kraig has received over the years. This book is a must!

I still remember reading the manuscript of Modern Magick. Today, as I look over the second edition of this book, I remember why I was so impressed with it back then and remain impressed now: format and breadth.

After all those years of wondering about magick and trying to find a book which really teaches you the REAL secrets of magick, this book wins the ultimate MUST HAVE. Very good for those who are starters in Magick. This book lets you understand and learn the Whats, the Hows, and the Whens of Magick. You will be able to understand other books on the Occult once you have finished reading this book. Most of the beginners would like to jump to COOL Magick like Goetia - then upon reading it and trying to summon things - nothing happens - then you start wondering if you have to read between the lines, well, in a way yes. So, before jumping to those more advance versions of Magick, this book will be your guide to understand what Magick is and how to use other Magickal or Occult books.

The breadth of this book is amazing. It covers so many topics that you will be astounded. From Witchcraft to Kabalah, from reincarnation to astral travel, from charging talismans to pathworking up the Tree of Life, this book has it all. Do you need to know rituals for banishing? They're here. Do you want to learn how to make magical tools? It's in this book. Do you want the secrets for safely calling up spirits from the famous grimoires? You can learn it here, too, along with the secrets of sex magick and Tantric sexuality.

But all of these exercises, rituals, and techniques — all of this information — is no good unless you can make use of it and understand it. That is an area where this book really excels. Instead of simply throwing out all of the material at once, this book has a progressive format. What you learn in lesson two is based on what you learned in lesson one. What comes is later lessons is based on your study of the previous ones. Because it is progressive, Don doesn't have to waste space by repeating what came earlier. But because you constantly use everything, you can go much deeper into every subject.

If you have a first edition of this book, be sure to get a copy of the second edition. It adds a section on answers to common questions and more informative contents pages. I think you will be excited with it, too. I know of many people who have worn out two or three copies of this book. Entire magical orders use it as their text. Isn't it time for you to begin?

Author Donald Michael Kraig wrote this after teaching the information in classes for ten years. It is refined, tested, and easy to understand. It is filled with exercises, techniques, and rituals to help you. It is presented in a series of eleven lessons. Follow the lessons, practice the rituals and techniques, and by the end of your work you will be a magician.

I know many who likes to skip chapters just to learn what one wants to learn. If you are serious in Magick, take your time to go from the beginning. You need to build up sufficient knowledge of how to let Magick happen. As for experienced Magicians, I would say that this is a good reference. This book is mainly based on Kabbalistic Magick and a few Low Magick (nature magick). Too bad there isn't much on Enochian. I've been followin the lessons in the book and I can say that: its not complicated and Magick WORKS (this statement are for those who are sceptics)!! All in all this book provides you with good history in Magick though not in detail but still not too boring. For those serious in this, I would also recommend the audio tape to pronounce the difficult words there are in the book.
